A Brand for the Cultural City of Hanover: Feel the Energy!

EIGA designed the brand and campaign for the cultural city of Hannover. This project was implemented through a collaborative process with the city’s cultural players. A brand committee participated in a series of workshops where a unified narrative and brand concept were developed: Feel the Energy!

The POW symbol can detach itself from the wordmark and visual identity to serve as a frame or stage for showcasing Hannover’s diverse cultural offerings. The flexible logo principle attracts a lot of attention but remains in the background when culture takes centre stage. The symbol embodies the vibrant cultural community of Hannover and its collective energy.

The core brand idea is “Geballte Nähe, trotz wahrer Größe.” which translates “close proximity despite true greatness”.
